The demonstration of national pride is heightened during the month of February, when the anniversary of St. Lucia’s independence is celebrated. This is done through special assemblies, held to sensitize pupils on the theme for independence for the year. During this activity, pupils sing special songs praising their country’s beauty and majesty and express love and sincerity to the land that gave them birth.
On National Colours Day all garments worn are “blue and yellow, black and white”. To strengthen this patriotism in our pupils and develop appreciation for all things local, teachers engage pupils in fashion shows where they model their national colours.
Pupils are also engaged in a Talent Show to celebrate the anniversary of St. Lucia’s independence. Each class puts together various performances ranging from singing, poetry recital to dancing and skits.
